Grandson in band concert
This month I was fortunate enough to spend a day in New Jersey with my children and grandchildren celebrating several events. My daughter and her husband celebrated their 22nd wedding Anniversary, my son-in-law turned 50 on the 21st, and my granddaughter turned 13 at the end of May. I left Boston at 9:30am and returned at 10:30pm. One highlight of the day was hearing my grandson play saxophone in the high school band. The band has about 100 members and they were wonderful! We even got to see the top of my grandson’s head! Saxophone players do not sit in the front row and he was off to the side in the fourth row. It is refreshing to see so many young people interested in playing music and doing it quite well. The teacher conducting the band announced there would be 110 freshmen in the band next year. Wonderful!!
